Mexico San Vicente Yogondoy

Grown in the remote, forested highlands of Oaxaca’s Sierra Sur, Mexico San Vicente Yogondoy is a standout single origin with a compelling story and vibrant flavor. This medium roast highlights the Pluma Hidalgo variety—a rare Typica mutation unique to the region—offering notes of milk chocolate, Meyer lemon, and plum. Produced by a collective of smallholder Zapotec farmers, many under 30 years old, this coffee reflects a new generation’s commitment to quality and sustainability. Clean, balanced, and deeply expressive, it’s a striking example of Oaxacan terroir.

Sourcing

This lot comes from Kateshi Estate, revitalized by Covoya Coffee Importers in 2012 and now a hub for regional smallholder support. The estate sets the standard not only for quality but for community impact—employing women in nontraditional roles, providing clean water to over 20,000 people, funding schools, and operating a free health clinic. The coffee is fully washed and patio-dried in parchment to preserve clarity and brightness in the cup.

Roasting

Roasted to a medium level to emphasize structure and sweetness, this coffee showcases tasting notes of cashew, cherry, chamomile, and Meyer lemon. A juicy body and gentle floral acidity make it ideal for filter brews—elevated and expressive without being fussy.

The GBB Guarantee

We pride ourselves in sourcing the highest quality coffee beans and building direct relationships with farmers and producers.

To maximize freshness, store coffee in an opaque, airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place. Avoid storing coffee in the refrigerator or freezer due to moisture and odor absorption, which can negatively impact flavor.
