Marine Layer is the perfect coffee for aficionados looking for a darker roast showcasing a toffee sweetness. This coffee is bigger in body and has a sweet caramelized character balanced by the richness of roasted nuts. We develop these beans to the point of perfect balance, showcasing their inherent sweetness without tasting burnt. We source coffees seasonally for Marine Layer, looking for carefully harvested and produced coffees with deep chocolate notes and the complexity required to stand up to a slightly darker roast. The result is a delicious coffee that tastes like dark chocolate, caramelized sugars, molasses, and toffee.
