Origin: Nicaragua

The lush landscapes of Jinotega unfold along Nicaragua’s Isabelia Mountain Range, where shaded coffee farms sit among forests, conservation areas, and nature reserves. At 1,100 to 1,300 meters above sea level, the region’s distinctive landscape provides the setting for a coffee with gentle fruit character, delicate acidity, and a naturally sweet finish. The coffee growing communities here are deeply connected to the land, with many of the farms providing refuge for local wildlife alongside coffee production.

Sourcing

More than 220 women farmers from the Soppexcca cooperative contribute to this lot, representing more than 40% of the cooperative’s membership. Under the leadership of agronomist Fatima Ismael, Soppexcca has developed strong operational systems while expanding opportunities for women and investing in the next generation of coffee professionals. Its work extends beyond coffee production, with programs supporting youth education, environmental awareness, leadership, and training as cuppers, baristas, and quality control managers.

Roasting

A medium roast brings out the easygoing character of this coffee while preserving its fresh fruit and delicate raspberry acidity. Chocolate depth and candied nut sweetness carry through the finish, making for a balanced and inviting cup.

To maximize freshness, store coffee in an opaque, airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place. Avoid storing coffee in the refrigerator or freezer due to moisture and odor absorption, which can negatively impact flavor.
